In this DIY ecourse, you will be setting up an exciting iPad management system for your classroom. This system is all about getting a drivers license for using the iPads that requires students to take and pass a test. Once they have earned their drivers license they have to adhere the the rules of the iPad or their license can be revoked. This is an engaging way to keep your students on task while using iPads!
Introduction: Learn a little more about iPad Drivers License
This system was inspired from iPaddling in the BYOD website so this would be a great resource to check out. I was looking for a way to manage the iPads in my 4th grade classroom, so that students would know exactly what I expected while using iPads, and that it was a privilege to use them! So I came across the iPaddling website above, made few minor changes so that it worked better with my 4th graders, and I gave it a try! My students LOVED this system. They had to earn a license and felt important when they did!
So how does this system work? It is pretty simple!
Explain to students they will be earning an iPad drivers license in order to use an iPad during the school year. Students can only use an iPad if they have earned their iPad drivers license. If students break a rule of the iPad, they will lose their iPad license for a week.
Go over the Grandview C4 District rules of the iPad.
Pass out iPads and go over the basics of using the iPad while students practice.
Give students the iPad Drivers License Test and the iPad Test Drive.
iPad Drivers License Ceremony - present to students their iPad driver's license in a fun ceremony!
For students who do not pass, tell them they can take the test again in one week. Hopefully you do not have too many!
