Part 3: What tools can you use to create flipped lessons?
Before diving in to the different tools you can use to create flipped lessons, think about the following items that you should consider when choosing a lesson to flip.
- Will students understand the content if it is presented in a flipped lesson? Or will it require in-depth discussions/practice? Not all lessons may be suitable for a digital format. Remember this as you prepare your first lesson!
- Does this topic lend itself well to in-class/collaborative activities? Can you do more than a worksheet in-class with the knowledge that has been presented?
- What materials will students need at home and in class to be successful? How will you handle situations where students don't have access to these materials? How will you prepare students (and parents!) for the flipped learning model?
Now, the moment you've been waiting for... the creation! Click the images below to access different tools and resources for creating flipped lessons and decide which one(s) is right for you. Remember: Flipped classrooms don't always have to be the same lesson platform so try out a few for variety! Once you've picked a tool, create a short video (or find one you could use to teach a lesson) lesson teaching a concept that you could use in class!
