PC & MacBook Creation Tools
Below you will find a few tools that you can use on your PC or MacBook (yes, they work on both!) to create cool video lessons for your students.
Screencast-O-Matic is the go-to tool for screencasting on your PC or MacBook. You can capture anything that you're doing on a computer (a PowerPoint with voice-over, demonstrating how to use a new tool, how to annotate, etc.) using Screencast-O-Matic. With SOM, you can create videos up to 15 minutes long and save them directly to your computer to share on Edmodo/Google Classroom or a classroom website. Pair SOM with a free online whiteboard app, such as Twiddla, for an unstoppable combination! Download Screencast-O-Matic from Self Service to get started!
Twiddla is a whiteboard app that allows you to draw and annotate over images, documents, or a plain whiteboard. It is a perfect tool to use in conjunction with Screencast-O-Matic in order to create personalized instructional videos for your class.
For those of you with a MacBook, you can use QuickTime Player and the webcam to record yourself teaching a lesson. Don't have a MacBook? Use a traditional video camera, cell phone, etc. to create a video of you teaching!
