Technology Integration Activities
1. How to have a discussion online - Edmodo is a great platform to have online discussions, but students are more used to tweeting and using shortcuts when talking online. We need to teach them how to appropriately have an online discussion. Teachers need to model how to write posts, how to respond to each other appropriately and have consequences for students who do not follow the guidelines. Below is a resource you can use to pass out to your students to get them used to the guidelines of posting.

2. Adding Links to My Backpack- Students have a virtual "Backpack" where they can store website links, documents, or google docs
3. Turning in an Assignment - Students can turn in documents such as Pages, word, powerpoints, or google docs directly to you in Edmodo! No more taking papers home! We will focus on how to turn in a Pages document from an iPad to Edmodo.
4. Book Blogs and Vlogs (Using iPads) - Book Blogs and Vlogs are ways students can respond to a book or novel in your class. From your group, you can create a "Small Group". Students in this activity can use the camera on their iPad to record themselves talking about a book or asking a question. Then they log in to Edmodo and attach their movie as a file to a post for others to view and comment on.
5. Screencasting with ScreenChomp -ScreenChomp!
A quick and meaningful way to use technology by having students use the free ScreenChomp app to record a video where they have to draw and talk to explain something. This is a great assessment tool and falls under the modification range of SAMR. Take a look at more resources for Resources
